VitalSleep Mouthpiece Review – Anti Snoring Device With A Low Entry Price

VitalSleep Mouthpiece Review – Anti Snoring Device With A Low Entry Price

The VitalSleep mouthpiece is a pretty well known stop snoring mouthguard, as it’s pretty heavily marketed on late night TV, among other places. And while there is no semi-famous spokesman and no expensive clinical trials (like the Good Morning Snore Solution), this is a solid product with some interesting features and a very low price for the category. A Word About Price: It’s important to remember that if you invest in a stop snoring mouthpiece, you’re probably going to be using it for quite a while. Comfort is absolutely THE NUMBER ONE FACTOR in your ability to actually use these things, particularly as most of us are NOT used to having something in our mouth while we sleep. Benefits The VitalSleep does feature some very interesting benefits, such as the fact that it’s “Boil And Bite” (marketing speak for “run hot water on it, and it’ll resize for you”), as well as the fact that it does come with a 1 year replacement warranty. The latter fact is really quite interesting, as it’s basically the only mouthpiece to make such an offer. (It’s also important to remember that snoring mouthpieces are not built to last forever, but that the longer yours lasts, the better it is for your wallet) Comfort-wise, I would have to put it in second place behind both the Good Morning Snore Solution, but it still offers a level of comfort that is appropriate for these higher-end devices. (I should also note that this is a...
Good Morning Snore Solution Review – Mouthpiece Marvel or Myth?

Good Morning Snore Solution Review – Mouthpiece Marvel or Myth?

Recently, in my search for all things snoring-solution related, I came across the Good Morning Snore Solution: a device that is basically a reasonably priced snoring mouthpiece that claims to be able to stop what ails us (and by that, I mean our nightly tractor sound!). The product appears to be very popular in the UK, and is just starting to be sold here in the USA. Of course, according to the website, it’s FDA approved, and also well liked by Health Canada and the Australian Health And Ageing Department (No, I’m not making this up!) Looking a little deeper into the company, they are rated an A by the Better Business Bureau. Always a plus to be sure. The Test First Order – November 28, 2012. The beauty of the Good Morning Snore Solution is its guarantee: yes, this is a serious investment for a mouthpiece solution, but it does come with a 30 day money back guarantee. Obviously, that’s a pretty huge benefit, because as I’ve mentioned many a time before, NOT ALL SOLUTIONS WORK FOR EVERYBODY. Pardon me for the capital letters (I’m not yelling at you, I swear 😉 ), but if you’re a new reader at this site, it’s important to understand this. It’s funny, because as someone who’s reviewing this stuff, I always have to keep this in mind. Not all solutions are going to work for me, either. But a 30 day money back guarantee makes sure I’m not out of pocket on...
Effective Snoring Solutions – Emails From Readers

Effective Snoring Solutions – Emails From Readers

Well, it’s been almost a year for this website, and we’re still going strong. The great thing about operating a site where snoring solutions are the number one goal is that you do get a lot of thank you letters from people: snoring, after all is a problem that is very solvable, and once you’ve found that solution, great quality sleep just comes. Real Results, Fast Believe me, it’s often not an easy thing to believe that intense snoring can just stop one day with the help of an anti-snoring device. But it happens everyday, and my readers from the USA, Canada and Europe all love the changes in their life. Take Leonard, from Harrisburg, PA, as an example: My wife finally couldn’t take anymore, and I have to admit I was pretty embarrassed that at 35, my wife and I had separate bedrooms! I mean, this isn’t the 50s anymore, but who could blame her? I was finding that more and more I was snoring so intensely that I would wake myself up at night and then have real problems getting back to sleep. I pretty much felt like crap, and I knew I had to do something right away. It all ended when I found your site, and especially your great review of the Good Morning Snore Solution. I had read a bit about the difference between jaw advancing and tongue retaining mouthpieces, and just figured I’d try the GMSS because I quickly realized the tongue retaining...
Snoring Mouthpiece Title Fight – Jaw Advancing Vs. Tongue Retaining

Snoring Mouthpiece Title Fight – Jaw Advancing Vs. Tongue Retaining

If you’ve decided that a stop snoring mouthpiece is for you, this article will help you make a decision as to which TYPE suits you best, and help you avoid the pitfalls of selecting the wrong type of snoring mouthguard. So let’s look at the match-up, shall we? In This Corner… The Longtime Champion, Jaw Advancer Jones! Hey! We’re talking snoring mouthpieces here. Please excuse me if I attempt to glam-up a pretty dull subject! So, ahem, with Jaw Advancers (or if you’re focused on using words very few people actually use, Mandibular advancing mouthpieces), you’re generally talking about the majority of mouthpieces that are available on the market today. I’m of course talking about the VitalSleep, ZQuiet, as well as about a billion other cheap-o alternatives you can beat up your mouth with that are available at Amazon, and other fine stores. These devices focus on holding your jaw either forward, or in place (so it can’t slip backwards), the idea being that for some snorers, this will work to alleviate the blockage that causes snoring. People have been using these for probably about 20 years now, and some people swear by them. Weaknesses Notice that I said “some snorers”? This is very true. Not ALL snorers can benefit from a Jaw Advancing mouthpiece. They also have a few downsides that you’ll definitely want to consider before you back up the truck and buy one: Jaw advancers tend to be a lot less comfortable than the tongue retaining kind. They...
Snoring Remedies – What Works And What Doesn’t

Snoring Remedies – What Works And What Doesn’t

If there’s one thing that everyone wants nowadays, it’s good snoring remedies. What’s more, through this site I’ve found that people are looking for cheap remedies. Like, real cheap. Like, cheap or free. 🙂 I get that. Economic times are tough. But one thing it is important piece of advice I can tell you is this: a closet full of “stop snoring remedies” certainly adds up in terms of dollars spent. Plus, you know what you’re looking for: a solution that works. You want something that works, isn’t too crazy, is comfortable, and actually answers the question: “how do I stop snoring?” So if you’re asking for the best, “works for most people”, most cost effective solution, I’d definitely say a snoring mouthpiece (see reviews). While I do love the SnoreLess pillow (which works, albeit for mild to medium snorers), it doesn’t work for everyone. Chin straps, like the My Snoring Solution, tend to be bunk (read here). The interesting point? To some of this site’s visitors, all of those devices seem “pricey”. To which I respond, “sometimes you have to pay for effectiveness”. It’s just that simple. Musts To Avoid So, as a fairly serious “investigator” of snoring products, it’s my duty to let you know of products that simply don’t pass the smell test. Either ineffective or expensive over the long term, they take a problem that could be solved today for less than $100 (the Zyppah mouthpiece, as an example), and extend it waaayyy into the future. Here...
ZQuiet Review – Not My Mouthpiece, But…

ZQuiet Review – Not My Mouthpiece, But…

I’m not sure exactly what’s going on right now, but either a lot of people out there have had enough of snoring, or we’re in a Stop Snoring Mouthpiece Renaissance at the moment. I mean, I snored for years and never knew there were this many products out there! I guess things change when you’re focused on the problem everyday… So, we have the ZQuiet stop snoring mouthpiece. There’s some funny stuff out there on the web about it – including a guy who says “I don’t snore, but I have used it effectively” – surely a hilarious testimonial if I’ve ever heard one. But of course I decided to try it out for myself, as I AM a snorer, and frankly if it wasn’t for my SnoreLess pillow, my wife would have big problems. 🙂 At any rate, the ZQuiet is an interesting stop snoring mouthpiece which offers what it calls a “Living Hinged” design, which although it sounds cool, basically means it has a hinge. This claims to offer “superior comfort”, and it is not as bad as the mouthpiece looks when you first open the box. This mouthpiece is soft, but again nowhere near the total comfort offered by the Good Morning Snore Solution (read the review here). But, it does do what it says it should, which is to advance the jaw forward, which will of course quiet your snoring issue. An issue I had with the ZQuiet mouthpiece is that I found the fit...
SnoreRX Review – Building A Better Mouthpiece

SnoreRX Review – Building A Better Mouthpiece

There really is no need to reinvent the wheel, I guess, and the SnoreRX is a fantastic example of this long lived saying. Is it a new approach? Absolutely not. This mouthpiece fits squarely in the classic “jaw advancing/retaining” category, or if you’re into heavy scientific terms, “mandibular advancement mouthpiece”. Does it seem to be made of an advanced new material? Nope. This is a similar soft plasticky material much like, uh, pretty much all high end snoring mouthpieces. So what makes the SnoreRX different? Glad you asked. What makes the SnoreRX different from most jaw advancing/retaining snoring mouthpieces is its adjustability. Not only that, but the EXACTNESS of its adjustability (see image at right). And, if you’re still with me, the ability to RE-ADJUST at any time. This is actually a very good thing, as for a very long time the jaw advancing category has been virtually synonymous with mouthpieces that are based on some kind of “universal fit”. Now I don’t want to brag here, but I have a big mouth. My mother tells me this. 🙂 But besides that, I can tell you that I’ve always had difficulties with “universal fit” devices. I’m talking mouthpieces for this article, but it goes with a lot of things for me. If it’s a “universal fit”, I’m going to have some problem with it. The “adjustability factor” with jaw advancers is not new, of course. The VitalSleep (review here) is an example of an adjustable mouthpiece. But the truly fantastic thing...
Brez – The Perfect Affordable Snoring Device?

Brez – The Perfect Affordable Snoring Device?

Well, to answer the question the title asks, maybe. Just maybe. But I think it’s important to note that not all cases of sleep apnea are the same. So will all devices work for everybody? Nope. Not a chance. I’ve tried all of these, and naturally I’m a huge fan of the Snoreless Pillow more than anything, and here’s why: Number 1, it works. I’ve tried pretty much everything in the book: from herbs, to jaw supporters to exercise, and while I had varying degrees of success with all of them, the Snoreless Pillow was by far the best. The Big Key For Me: It’s pretty much insanely comfortable. Yes. I used the word “insane”. Maybe it’s because I just kind of went crazy for this pillow when I first bought it. It just changed the way that I slept forever. Frankly, I felt like Linus from Charlie Brown after ten years without a security blanket. Well, possibly that good. So while my wife was a big fan because it reduced my, ahem, snoring engine (suddenly, the muffler-less 1955 Chevy was quieted), I loved it because of the comfort. I recognize that a lot of the “good sleep” I was getting was because it was aligning my spine and neck correctly, thus making my sleep deeper and more solid, but I really feel like it was the best upgrade to my sleep I’ve had since I ditched my old garage sale mattress for a Sealy. But To The Brez...
My Snoring Solution Review – Too Many Complaints, Not Enough Science/Facts

My Snoring Solution Review – Too Many Complaints, Not Enough Science/Facts

Well, let’s face it: we all want something that will stop us from snoring. That’s why we’re here, right? And certainly, in most cases, good stop snoring products will help. That’s right. They helped me! Naturally, my favorite is the SnoreLess Pillow (review is here), but of course I have also seen great results from Brez (review here) and of course the Good Morning Snore Solution (review here). According to my wife, a completely uncertified, (but absolutely wonderful) test technician ;), the Good Morning Snore Solution was the equivalent of a silencer on a rifle – total silence, and really precise overall sleep continuity. Meaning, I sleep soundly, solidly, and my wife does too. My Problem:  I sometimes find it awkward to sleep with mouthpieces. I just don’t like having one in my mouth. Yes, once I get to sleep, I am quite happy (I am unconscious, after all), but I do find them a little annoying at first.  And after receiving emails from a few readers (email me at chris “at” this website or use the comments boxes to get in touch), I quickly realized that I am NOT alone. Mouthpieces are a necessary evil for many snorers, of course, but there has to be a more comfortable way, right? So… We have the My Snoring Solution Or do we? Now, at first look, the MSS (yes, I’m going to abbreviate it) LOOKS to be not a bad product. After all, nothing in the mouth, which is nice, and overall...
